Everything you will ever be or portray on the outside always starts in your mind. If you want to be 'Rich', you need a 'rich mind' | Want to be Successful, 'your mind must be successful first'. "And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever" - Sa 2:35
A. Recognize that only the Holy Spirit can bring renewal:
Only the Spirit can cause us to be illumined within and convinced of truth - The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.1 Cor 2:14. Will Power has its own limitation as it cannot stand the test of Time. But the Holy spirit is forever sure and you cant miss your way as long as He is Leading. He is our Present Help.
B. Ask in Prayer: Ask God for a renewed Mind."For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other..." Deut 4:32 Let God know how hungry for a new mind you are | Ask God for a hunger of His Word, for wisdom to understand it. For whatsoever you ask in the name of Jesus, you are bound to receive. Go ask Him NOW!
C. Get the Word into your mind: If you get the Word into your mind, God will get the Word into your heart. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Col 3:16. Always spend time and your resources no matter how little on Edifying Books and Tapes - Why? "Because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" Rom 10:17. Ok. ok ok friends. How do i Get the word in my Mind?
1. Hear the Word. Come to church. Pray ahead of time. Pray for the preacher. Visit I Love God Site at least twice a day to get updates (Not kidding) and Subscribe for our Mailing list to have updates pushed to your mail.
2. Read the Word. Study, use a concordance, read through the bible, snack on the Word.
3. Avail yourself of other resources – tapes, books, videos, conferences
4. Meditate on the Word. To ponder, to attend to, to care for. Heb: to moan, utter, speak. This is not a technique, but born out of a love and delight in His Word. Spurgeon captured meditation in his advice to preachers, “Probe your text, like a bee with a spring blossom…Worry at it like a dog with a bone. Suck it as a child sucks an orange. Chew it as a cow chews the cud.”
5. Study and meditate on the part of the Word that relates to your area of weakness.
6. Learn the key truths like the attributes of God, the depravity of man, the finished work of Christ, grace, the sovereignty of God, repentance, faith, and perseverance.
7. Speak the Word to one another. Seek fellowship with those who will build you up in Christ. Be the person others seek to be built up in Christ. We need to be a community who will reinforce God’s reality of the Kingdom. We will eventually become like the people we hang out with. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted from the things of God.
8. Control your thoughts. Do not feed on thoughts that contradict God’s Word. 2 Cor 10:3-6. Do you recognize your need to be transformed? Are you willing to be transformed? The good news is – you can be transformed. The way to be transformed is through faith in Jesus Christ which works through the renewal of the mind. If you put the truth of God into your mind, God will use that truth to transform you through the power of the Holy Spirit. If you do this you will be like the man David wrote about in Psalm 1:1-13, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”
