One of the types of prayers in the bible is the prayer of unity. Previously in our types of prayers in the bible series, we talked about the Prayer of Agreement. Today, we'll be taking a look at what is titled the Prayer of Unity.
Unlike the prayer of agreement that involves two or more people, prayer of unity involves great number of people. It is a type of prayer that involves the unification of different people to seek God on a particular issue.
Act 1:14 "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren"

One thing about this type of prayer in the bible (Prayer of Unity) is that:
1. It has to involve more than just a bunch of people - "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication" - Act 1:14a
2. There must be a unification of interest - In every prayer, there must be an agreement. Even in a case whereby you are the only one praying. There must be a unification of your entire being. Likewise the prayer of unity - Every party involve must be in unity, absence of strive and guilt. In Acts 1:14, there was a unification. Also see Act 2:1 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place"
Did you see that? "...they were all with one accord in one place"
3. There must be an asking - You must have something to ask before you are guaranteed answers.
The Force of the prayer of Unity
- Same unction upon everyone present. Oh Yes. Act 2:3 "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them"
- Same fire and infilling - Act 2:4 "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance"
