What is Prayer?
• Prayer is seeking divine intervention over any given situation on the basis of the word of God.
• Prayer is also a medium for spiritual empowerment
• Prayer is a spiritual channel for connecting with help from above.

1. Be confident – "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" Hebrews 4:16. When we approach God with confidence, he rewards us for it. "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward" - Hebrews 10:35
2. Be kingdom minded – "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" - Mat 6:33. When you favour God’s kingdom, you turn his favour in your direction even before you pray.
3. Be specific – God is not an ambiguous God, therefore be specific in your prayers in order for it to be answered."..And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight..." - Mar 10:51-52. Blind Bartimaeus was specific in his asking. He asked what he needed and got what he wanted.
4. Have faith – Any prayer not backed up in faith is not a true prayer because the greater your faith, the shorter your prayer. "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" - Hebrews 11:6. Also see Matt 9:28-29
