The Power of the Tongue

It’s been said over and over again that 'the tongue' being a small member of the body yet possesses great powers. The tongue has made men out of nothing and it has destroyed many mighty men. I believe at the end of this post, you will be encouraged to use the potency of your tongue and the power therein – to command great achievements in your life – The Power of the Tongue

"In the same way the tongue is a small part of the body, but it can brag about doing important things. A large forest can be set on fire by a little flame" - Jam 3:5

Throughout Christ’s Ministry on the earth, He made excellent use of the power of the tongue.
He said to the sea, peace be still in Mark 4:39, He also told the blind to receive their sight and many more; yet non of his words fell to the ground as they always yield results “The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them" - Mat 11:5.

Joyce Meyer in one of her teachings about the tongue said “The quiet I am, the more I sense Gods’ presence. I don’t use my tongue anyhow.” Joel Osteen once said “What you declare is what you become. Don’t sell yourself too cheap”
Bishop Oyedepo (founder of the 50, 000 sitter auditorium which is the largest single auditorium in the world) said “everything in their ministry happen via the spoken word and adequate use of their tongue” He started declaring I cannot be poor even when he only had a pair of trousers and a suit with a beetle car.

What did you think destroyed the ministry of John the Baptist? - his tongue.

Caleb and Joshua possessed their possession via the positive use of their tongue while others who went with them got destroyed via the same application of their tongue“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we” - Num 13:30 – 31.

Friends, I challenge you to use your tongue wisely from this day forth. You have all it takes to be a successful believer. Once you are a successful believer, it radiates all around your endeavors too. Use your tongue wisely!
