Friends, on our Daily Bible Study today, we’ll be taking a very interesting topic from the Word of God today. It’s the topic of leadership: that is the leader in you.
A leader is not someone who sits down and command others nor is a leader classified by high position but positive influence on others.
A leader is indirectly a servant. Do you recall when the disciples were asking amongst themselves who was to be the greatest in the kingdom? Jesus said “friends if you want to be a leader, be a servant” Mat 20:27 “And whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant” No wonder He (Jesus) could come down low to wash the feet of His disciples in John 13:5 “Then he poureth water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.”
Until you are ready to serve, you are not fit to be served. Until you are ready to be led, you are not ready to lead. Until you are set not to have your way or say always, you are not set for developing the leader in you.
Being a leader connotes you being able to come down low to reason with those below your level.
Jesus came down so low as to dine and wine with sinners – not because He is a sinner or support sin; but because he was willingly to proclaim the gospel to the sinners and have them repent.
Friends, lets us all crave for the spirit of servant hood in the kingdom. Elisha served Elijah till he could see him no more. No wonder the sons of the prophet could say “the spirit of Elijah does rest on Elisha” He got his Double portion via humility.
Therefore, I admonished each and every one of us to crave for the spirit to be humble and to serve in order to be that great leader God has destined us to be.
