On I Love God site today, we’ll talk about operating in the love of God – perfect love.
Paul said in his letter to the Corinthians 1Cor 13:1 “I may speak in the languages of humans and of angels. But if I don't have love, I am a loud gong or a clashing cymbal”
1. Faith - “No one can please God without faith. Whoever goes to God must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who seek him” - Hebrews 11:6.
A proof of your love for god is the level of your faith in him. Abraham believed God till his miracle was delivered unto him. No wonder he was called the father of nations. Till today, He’s still celebrated.
Faith is total dependency on God even when it seems like the desired result is not forth coming.
Abraham believed God against all physical circumstances – He was old likewise his wife Sarah. But their love for God remained ever strong.
2. Believing God against all odds: Like we mentioned above, Abraham believed God against all odds. David was a man after God’s own heart. He believed God against his fleshy nature. Even when it seems as if God is far away from David, he’ll always say things like “where will I go if I leave your presence – cast me not away from your presence” Look at the disciples and the apostles for instance.
They live a life of “if I perish, I perish” They believed God despite all the persecution they faced.
3. Portray your love for God: “David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.
And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee” – 1 Samuel 17:37. When people were running back from the battle line and allowed Goliath to defile the name of the lord God of Host, David portrayed his love for God by saying “I will go and fight him”
Let your actions show and portray your love for god even in this new week.
Prayer line: Lord, intoxicate me with your love.
