9/11 Families over Bin Laden's Death

Mixed Feelings for Some relatives of September 11 - 9/11 victims who expressed conflicting faith issues about their reaction to the death of professed terror leader Osama bin Laden.

New Jersey widow Barbara Minervino says she has struggled mightily with her Catholic faith's teaching that no sin is too grave to be forgiven. Her husband was killed at the World Trade Center.

And the wife of one of the heroes on Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania says it "seems odd" and goes against her "Christian faith" to say she's happy about bin Laden's death." Denna Burnett Bailey says one of her daughter's said "We can't say praise the Lord, he's dead."

Wheaton College President Philip Ryken, a theology professor, says it's acceptable to have "appropriate satisfaction" about an act of justice. Ryken says the Psalms contains prayers for God to bring justice against enemies. And Ryken says he is touched by those who have lost so much but still follow the difficult teaching of Christ to the costly way forgiveness.
