Hindrances to praise and worship (Pt1)

Because the enemy is aware of the power of praise and worship, he places before you certain hindrances to stop your blessings from reaching you. Below are outlined (4) four hindrances to praise and worship and how to overcome them in case they surface or whenever they surface.

Murmuring and Complaining
·        Murmuring and complaining result when you forget His past acts in your life. Remember the children of Israel, the number of Israelite that lost their lives to murmuring and complains were more than any other sin.
·        When you complain to man, you secure sympathy but when you complain to God you incur His anger. And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp” - Num 11:1
·        Murmuring invites the destroyer“ Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer”1 Cor. 10:10

The Way out: Engage the power of praise and worship the more. Refuse to Murmur, Refuse to complain.

Spirit of Heaviness - Is. 61:3
·        Depression is what is described as the spirit of heaviness.
·        Depression is the gateway of oppression.
·        Joy is the key to freedom.  That is why God gives us the spirit of joy to destroy the spirit of heaviness – “… to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified”
·        Jesus was ever joyous – “…In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee…” - Lk. 10:21
·        Paul was ever joyous – Phil. 4:4; 1 Thes. 5:16
·        David was ever joyous – Psalm. 33:1.

The Way out: Put on the garment of praise and maintain a joyous life in the midst of any circumstance. Refuse to be depressed. To be continued
